Virtual Libraries:

  • Internet Archive" - My favourite virtual library. a non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining an on-line library and archive of Web and multimedia resources. (Taken from Wikipedia). I have even found old versions of my website here. It's pretty cool.
  • Texas History Portal - A really neat virtual library. There are all sorts of historical documents here. There's even a menu from El Fenix from back in the 1950's or 1960's. My husband is one of the programmers who works on this site.
  • Wikisource - No, not Wikipedia, Wikisource! This site contains text from various literature.


Shopping Sites:

  • Amazon - A site where you can find a plethora of items for sale. I like to buy gifts for birthday and Christmas here and prices are usually decent. I also like the free super saver shipping.
  • Z & S Fabrics - A company that sells quilting fabrics and patterns. They have really good prices on their fabrics, especially the Kona Bay Emperor's Collection. They also have decent sales.
  • Fabric.com - Another company that specialises in fabrics, though they don't limit themselves to just quilting fabrics. They have some good sales and specials here as well as a decent selection of fabric.


Specialized References:

  • About.com - About.com is a really cool site. Do you need a recipe? Or maybe you want to learn how to dye your own fabric? Or perhaps you need help putting the binding on a quilt. About.com contains information regarding these and many other topics. I love this site.
  • The International Movie Database - Want to know who played a certain character in a certain movie? Come here! Moviesand television shows are listed here with whatever information is available. You can even find short biographies on various celebrities.
  • Dictionary.com - A great reference, especially when you don't have a dictionary on hand and you have no idea what a word means.
  • Wikipedia - This is a really neat site that contains all sorts of information on various subjects. One has to be careful since anyone can create a username and edit the entries, but it can still be a valuable and interesting source of information.
  • Online! - A reference guide. I hate having to cite sources, but this website has been useful to me on several occasions when I've had to write papers and cite sources in them.


Discussion Groups:

  • Quilters Corner Club - A group of quilters who discuss various styles of quilting, give tips, tricks, share websites, as well as experiences and projects.
  • Denton Quilt Guild - A group for members of the Denton Quilt guild to discuss ideas about quilting, share tips and tricks, share websites, experiences, projects, as well as keep in touch with one another and discuss the guild and its various activities.
  • Daily Recipes - A high volume group that posts recipes daily, as well as tips and tricks in cooking.
